How the Extension Works
YouTubePlus performs the following actions:
Tab Access: The extension reads the URLs of your open browser tabs to identify YouTube
video pages. This information is only processed locally in your browser.
YouTube API: When you choose to save videos, the extension uses the official YouTube
Data API with your Google account authorization to add videos to your personal playlist. This
communication is directly between your browser and Google's servers.
Authentication: The extension uses Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate with YouTube. Your
login credentials are handled entirely by Google; we never see or store your password.
Data Storage
The extension does not store any data on external servers. All operations are performed locally in your
browser session.
Third-Party Services
The extension interacts with the following third-party services:
YouTube Data API (Google): Used to manage your playlists. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Permissions Explained
tabs: Required to detect open YouTube video tabs in your browser.
identity: Required for Google OAuth authentication to access YouTube API on your
behalf.
Host permissions (youtube.com, googleapis.com): Required to interact with YouTube pages
